Our Summer Reading Program Launches June 1!

All Manatee County children ages 0-17 may join in for free!  The national theme is All Together Now and we will be taking everyone on a trip around the world, with each Library location representing a different region!

The program runs June 1-July 31 and you may sign-up starting June 1.
 
Come to One of Our Kick-Off Events!

Every location will have a special Kick-Off event on June 1 or June 3!   They will be entertaining for the whole family and a great way to learn more about the program.

While supplies last, we will also have some giveaways at these events!

Special Teen Challenge!

For the first time ever, we will have a special teen challenge as part of the Summer Reading Program!  The activities will go beyond reading and fall into different categories to inspire and interest teens.

We also will have free events throughout the summer for teens, a fun and engaging way to connect with other teens!

All The Prizes!

So many prizes to win this year!  Participating children will earn a new brag tag for every 4 hours read, up until 20 hours.  At 20 hours read, they earn win a free book plus an entry into their Library location's Grand Prize drawing for their age.  

All the Grand Prizes are shown in this picture! P.S. We have prizes for parents whose children complete 20 hours read too.
 
Fun and Free Events Not to Be Missed!

We have an amazing line-up of events for our Summer Reading Program, including sessions with visiting partners like Jungle Gardens, Mote, Mad Science and more! 

Every week each location will have a dedicated Summer Reading event, and you can attend as many as you want as long as space is available!  Our regular Story Times, makerspace programs, etc. will continue too.

Stamp Your Passport!

Want an extra challenge?  Your Summer Reading booklet will have a passport on the back with the regions representing each Library location.  Stop by each location and have Library staff stamp your passport! 

This is a great way to explore different events at all of our locations!
 
1000 Books Before Kindergarten Continues!

Our early literacy program 1000 Books Before Kindergarten continues, and all Manatee County children ages 0-5 may participate!  

If you have already started on the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, all books read this summer count for both programs' prizes!  If you have not yet signed up, you can opt-in with your Summer Reading sign up sheet.  Win twice as many prizes for the same books!
