June is Great Outdoors Month

To celebrate Great Outdoors Month, Manatee County Libraries is excited to share that your library card is your pass to adventure this summer!

Florida State Parks have partnered with the Florida Department of State, Florida's Bureau of Library Development and local libraries throughout the state to offer Real Florida Reader day passes so you can continue your learning adventure while exploring Florida's beautiful state parks.

Head to your local Manatee Library branch and check out a book and a Real Florida Reader day pass to get started on your next adventure. If you don't have a library card, visit your local branch to get one. The library card and park pass are FREE!

Things to know:

There are limited passes available to check out.
Passes will be available to place a hold on Monday, June 6.
The first batch of passes will be available on Wednesday, June 8.
You will be notified when your pass is ready to be picked up. The pass must be picked up and returned to the same location.
Each pass is good for one vehicle (up to 8 people) and covers your entry fee. Pass is for day-use only and does not include camping registration or any other fees.

Seed Library at the Palmetto Branch
A Seed Library is taking root at the Palmetto Library and we are looking for volunteer members to keep our stock sustainable. Learning materials will be provided. Partnering with the UF/IFAS Extension Service, seasonal Florida-friendly flower and vegetable seeds will be available at a first come, first serve basis for anyone in the community. Donations are always welcome. Thank you Palmetto Friends of the Library for providing funds for this project.
